Essence Hospitality Group is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Helper to support the Facilities Manager across three Grand Rapids restaurant properties. You will perform basic repairs, painting, and upkeep, learning essential building maintenance skills while contributing to clean, safe, and functional spaces.

No prior years of experience required; reliable, trainable individuals who enjoy practical, hands-on work will thrive.

Qualifications

• Dependable and able to show up consistently.
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.

• Able to follow instructions and complete a task list.
• Detail-oriented and able to notice maintenance needs.
• Able to work independently on assigned tasks after training.
• Physically capable of lifting, bending, and performing manual tasks.
• Able to travel between restaurant locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic repairs and maintenance projects.
• Paint, patch, and perform touch-up work.
• Replace hardware, fixtures and other building items.
• Move, assemble and install furniture or equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Handle outdoor and seasonal property upkeep.
• Organize tools, equipment and maintenance supplies.
• Conduct detailed facility cleaning beyond normal restaurant cleaning.
• Clean vents, pipes, walls, and hard-to-reach areas.
• Identify maintenance concerns and report them to the Facilities Manager.
• Support larger repair and improvement projects as needed.
• Travel between three Grand Rapids restaurant locations.
