Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern CA Division is seeking a part-time Janitor to help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff. Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, basic maintenance, and assisting with special events and meals.

Working with the Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the program area remains hygienic and well-kept, including floor care, equipment storage, and reporting needs to the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Minimum one-year experience in housekeeping and/or grounds maintenance.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
• Spot clean carpets when necessary.
• Strip, buff, and wax and/or shampoo and vacuum floors on multiple areas as needed.
• Store and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Maintain front and back of property.
• Wash property fencing and railing on a regular rotation.
• Report any inappropriate behavior on the grounds to the Program Manager.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Pick up, deliver and store supplies as needed.
• Organize and maintain all assigned storage areas.
• Maintain the vehicles, fill up gas tanks, report repairs as needed.
• Assist all departments in transportation as needed.
• Assist on special events, community events, classes and meetings in setting up and breaking down.
• Assist in Food Services preparation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management personnel.
