Job summary

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform general repairs and housekeeping across interior and exterior facilities.

Under the Facilities Management Supervisor, you will support technicians and other staff, handle inspections, and assist with vendor work. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years in maintenance/construction, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years maintenance, housekeeping, or construction experience.
• Trade or technical certificate in refrigeration/construction preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and tribal insurability. Background check may be required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and across varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and responds to daily maintenance issues.
• Assists technicians and housekeeping staff; hauls equipment and oversees vendor work.
• Snow removal and salting of walkways and entrances.
• Repairs, replaces floor tiles, windows, and plumbing fixtures; electrical work as needed.
• Maintains floors, carpets, windows, and cleans and returns sites to original condition.
• Maintains tools and vehicles; prepares materials for tasks.
