Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in New Berlin, Wisconsin is seeking an Operating Engineer to help maintain the facility’s mechanical, electrical, life-safety and related systems. This on-site role requires hands-on expertise in at least one core trade and the ability to work across disciplines.

You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor and repair HVAC, plumbing, and control systems, and review service summaries to resolve recurring issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in at least one core trade area (electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations).
• Ability to analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of basic computer applications, including Word and Excel.
• Availability for call-in work and willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs across mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Review monthly client service request summaries to identify recurring operational issues.
• Record equipment readings and adjust to maintain proper system function.
• Evaluate vendor performance and monitor outside contractor work quality and cost.
• Follow protocols for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
