Job summary

Inland Companies, Inc. in Milwaukee seeks a skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to maintain the CityCenter building at 735.

This hands-on role requires practical knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will troubleshoot and repair building systems, operate and monitor building automation systems, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of building maintenance experience.
• Comfortable using technology (phones/tablets) for work orders.
• Knowledge of general maintenance methods and processes.
• Working knowledge of tools, appliances, and common devices.
• Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, outdoor work, and standing for long periods.
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment.
• Service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Replace and repair finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint.
• Evaluate maintenance operations and propose upgrades or cost-saving measures.
• Respond to emergency situations and service requests promptly.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions and preventive needs.
• Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms.
• Use technology effectively, including building automation systems.
