Job summary

Panhandle ISD is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee cleaning, maintenance, and safety of district facilities. The role involves implementing cleaning schedules, supporting event setups, and coordinating preventative maintenance with staff, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient school environment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of building maintenance, proper handling of cleaning supplies, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies

Responsibilities

• Cleaning: Maintain a cleaning schedule that includes floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Maintenance and Repair: Assist with lunchroom setup, perform preventive maintenance, make minor repairs, and report major repairs to the principal.
• Safety: Open/close building, inspect machines, follow safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions promptly.
