Job summary

Monarch Communities, located in New Jersey, is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee the general maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the community. This exempt, salaried role reports to the Executive Director.

You will plan and direct operations, supervise staff, manage safety programs, and coordinate vendor contracts to keep the buildings safe, clean, and comfortable for residents. Occasional weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in maintenance/housekeeping supervisory role
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and orients housekeeping staff
• Develops housekeeping and maintenance schedules; ensures daily tasks are completed
• Performs general maintenance work (light electrical, painting, carpentry)
• Operates and maintains HVAC equipment
• Conducts daily inspections of building, grounds, and equipment
• Oversees emergency drills and trains associates on Emergency Preparedness Plan
• Secures vendor contracts for community systems
• Maintains on-call status for emergencies and evacuations
• Occasional weekend coverage as Manager on Duty
