Job summary

Monarch Communities is seeking a Maintenance Director / Environmental Services Director in New Jersey to lead the Environmental Services, Maintenance, and Housekeeping teams across the community. You will plan, organize, and direct all programs to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant environment for residents.

The role reports to the Executive Director with Regional support, is exempt and salaried, and offers a comprehensive benefits package along with on-site leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance and housekeeping practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the community.
• Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
• Hands-on experience with general maintenance, carpentry, and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Environmental Services, Maintenance, and Housekeeping departments.
• Plan, develop, organize, evaluate, implement, direct, and supervise the Environmental Services, Maintenance, and Housekeeping departments, including all programs, services, and activities.
• Develop department policies and procedures and coordinate services with other departments.
• Monitor monthly expenditures to ensure budget compliance.
• Recruit, retain, and evaluate department personnel.
• Develop staffing schedules and work assignments.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and community policies.
• Maintain required logs and inspections for state and federal requirements.
• Manage department supplies and vendor contracts for systems and operations.
• Provide on-call support for emergencies and occasional weekend coverage.
