Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Maintenance Specialist within the DOC Construction & Maintenance division. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and directing maintenance and repair of state-owned properties, supervising staff and contracted crews, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Candidates will oversee budgeting, bidding, and project documentation while coordinating travel for inspections and work across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable construction or maintenance trades and related regulations.
• Ability to supervise staff, inmates, or contractors; plan and manage activities.
• Experience with preparing cost estimates, budgets, and reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct construction, renovation, maintenance and repair of state buildings and facilities.
• Supervise technicians and licensed trades professionals; oversee contracted crews.
• Prepare cost estimates and review plans and documents for projects.
• Plan movement of heavy construction equipment and schedules for crews.
• Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations and maintain records.
