Job summary

King County’s Building Services Section, Facilities Management Division, seeks an immediate Utility Worker I to support a wide range of maintenance and equipment operation tasks across locations including downtown Seattle and Kent. The role offers a Career Service full-time path with a 6-month probation and an eligibility list for future openings.

Ideal candidates have light maintenance or landscaping experience, are reliable, and can work with hand tools while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience performing physical tasks in a capacity related to this position.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.
• Knowledge of the basic use and care of tools and equipment. Ability to get along and work effectively with others in the team. Basic knowledge of building craft and mechanical trades.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• Ability to take direct orders, work assignment and communicate effectively with the supervisor.
