Job summary

King County is hiring an Utility Worker I to perform a wide range of light maintenance, groundskeeping, and basic equipment operation across several locations in the Seattle area.

Ideal candidates have related experience, reliable attendance, and the ability to work with others in a team. The position is full-time, benefits-eligible, and includes paid leave and retirement participation.

Qualifications

• Experience performing physical tasks in a related role.
• Reliable attendance and dependability.
• Basic knowledge of using and caring for tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain various areas including interiors, exteriors, landscapes, parking areas and vehicles.
• Operate power tools including pressure washers.
• Maintain daily logs and complete work requests.
• Load and drive dump and box trucks.
• Assist in minor maintenance and repairs to facilities, grounds and structures.
• Move office furniture and set up meeting rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
