Job summary

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is seeking a Full Time Facilities Maintenance Assistant for our Columbus, OH location. As a Kimball Midwest associate, you’ll contribute to a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility and support both warehouse and office spaces.

The role includes painting, grounds upkeep, safety inspections, and routine maintenance tasks with weekday evenings, Monday through Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm.

Qualifications

• Ability to wear safety equipment as provided by management.
• Ability to adapt to varying environmental conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse and office cosmetic improvements (painting floors/walls/trim, wall mounting pictures/shelves/clocks).
• Shut off gas, water, and electric supply in emergencies.
• Perform monthly inspections of all fire extinguishers per guidelines.
• Complete items from the maintenance checklist daily.
• Ensure detailed cleanliness of the warehouse and office.

Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks related to warehouse and office cosmetic improvements including but not limited to:
  • Painting of floors, walls, and trim
  • Wall mounting of pictures, shelves, clocks, etc.
  • Mowing grass/Shoveling snow
  • Trimming weeds
  • Removing trash from around the building
• Shuts off gas, water, and electric supply in the case of an emergency
• Performs monthly inspections of all fire extinguishers in accordance with company guidelines
• Completes items from the maintenance checklist daily
• Ensures the detailed cleanliness of the warehouse and office

Qualifications

This is a Monday- Friday role. No Weekends! The hours are 2:30pm-11:00pm.
