Job summary

Kimball Midwest is seeking a 2nd Shift Shipper at our Columbus, OH Distribution Center. The role involves handling daily shipping operations, packing orders, and ensuring accuracy and quality in a climate-controlled warehouse.

Qualifications

• Reads and writes small letters and numbers, and performs arithmetic calculations.
• Understands written and oral instructions.
• Able to follow oral and written shipment instructions.
• Able to lift objects weighing 50 pounds.
• Shows strong work ethic and schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate the shipping department on a day-to-day basis.
• Pack and ship completed orders using appropriate box counts, not exceeding 40 lb per item.
• Check for damaged bags/boxes to maintain product quality.
• Assist with Freight and special shipments, including Heavy Duty and Next Day Air, including Hazardous Materials.
• Update sales orders daily to ensure correct quantities are shipped.

Job description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a 2nd Shift Shipper for our Columbus, OH Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

• Performs the day-to-day operations of the shipping department.
• Packs and ships completed sales orders by using the correct number of boxes and stuffing not to exceed the 40 lb. weight standard set up by the shipping manager.
• Maintains the quality of the product by looking for damaged bags or boxes.
• Helps ship Freight orders and other special orders including Heavy Duty shipments and end of day for Next Day Air shipments, including Hazardous Material.
• Performs daily maintenance to sales orders to assure the correct quantity goes out including incompletes.

Qualifications

• This position requires the ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• This position requires the ability to concentrate and to communicate with management and co-workers regarding a shipment.
• This position requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions that pertain to each shipment.
• This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing fifty (50) pounds.
• This position requires a strong work ethic and some schedule flexibility.

Additional Information

The pay rate is $19 per hour

The hours are 2:30pm - 11pm, Monday through Friday.
