Facilities Maintenance Assistant
Job Summary:

Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team in New London, Connecticut. As a facilities maintenance expert, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our state-of-the-art rehabilitation and nursing center. Your attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work independently will enable you to make a significant impact on the comfort and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to ensure the facility remains safe and functional
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, electrical systems, and plumbing to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems as needed to minimize downtime and maintain facility operations
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and effective maintenance of facilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or related field preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders and stairs as needed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
