Mystic Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Mystic, Connecticut. This full-time position involves following the maintenance schedule, performing routine upkeep, and addressing repairs across the facility.

You will maintain grounds and facilities, replace lighting, and service HVAC systems according to established procedures. Candidates must be able to lift 40 pounds and work around cleaning products, with English language proficiency required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Ability to speak and write English clearly.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and move up to 4 feet.
• Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

Responsibilities

• Receive and follow maintenance schedule and policies set by supervisor.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds and parking areas as directed.
• Repair facility and equipment including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical tasks.
• Clean windows and screens as directed.
• Replace burned out light bulbs and maintain lighting systems.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems per manufacturer directions.
• Handle unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.

Mystic Healthcare is a 100-bed, family-owned skilled nursing facility in Mystic, Connecticut specializing in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. We are currently hiring a Maintenance Assistant. Come join our team!

Responsibilities

• Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
• Clean windows and screens as directed.
• Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties wherever necessary.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or equivalent.
• Be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 40 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
