Job summary

State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services is seeking a Maintainer for a 37.5-hour on-site role in Newington, CT. The position involves building and grounds maintenance, snow removal, safety checks, and coordinating with landlords and contractors to ensure safe facilities.

Qualifications

• Any experience and training which provide the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
• Experience with grounds care is preferred.
• Experience with building maintenance is preferred.
• Experience with parking garage functions is preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor building repairs to maintain safe and functional facilities
• Handles snow removal and vehicle upkeep including sanding and routine maintenance coordination
• Monitors and documents preventative safety checks for items like fire extinguishers and smoke detectors
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitization of high-touch areas
• Coordinates facility needs by managing supplies, communicating with the landlord, and working with outside contractors
• Other duties as assigned
