Job summary

Paradigm at Stevens in Yoakum, TX is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee hands-on maintenance of building systems and grounds. You will directly lead the maintenance assistant and provide oversight to housekeeping and laundry teams, ensuring safety and compliance with Life Safety Code and local regulations.

You will schedule and document maintenance using TELS, manage budgets, coordinate vendors, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years hands-on building maintenance experience.
• 1–2 years in direct supervision of small teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, PTAC units, and life-safety systems.
• Respond to on-call facility emergencies as needed.
• Directly supervise the maintenance assistant and mentor housekeeping/laundry leads.
• Oversee compliance tasks, inspections, and licensing in coordination with HR and administrators.
• Manage department budgets for supplies, labor, and repairs; monitor inventory.
