Job summary

HopeTree Family Services is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance operations across its properties. The role focuses on keeping facilities safe, functional, and compliant, serving as the main contact for contractors and inspectors.

It requires broad trade expertise, strong organization, and the ability to plan capital improvements. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with relevant training and a record of coordinating contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required, with additional technical training or coursework in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or general contracting, and coordinating contractors.
• Requires strong knowledge of multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repair, and general mechanical systems.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with safety and operational impact prioritization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and work-order/documentation systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance work for assigned campuses/properties, prioritizing safety and urgency.
• Manage general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and agency vehicles.
• Ensure electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems are safe and efficient.
• Coordinate materials and access for contractors performing work.
• Prepare facilities for inspections and address issues identified.
• Maintain documentation for work orders, purchases, bids, and inspections.
• Assist with facility improvements as directed by Facilities Management Director.
• Exercise basic purchasing and budgeting within guidelines.
• Ensure safe use and storage of tools and equipment.
