Findlay City Schools seeks a Lead Custodian to supervise and perform custodial duties across the school facilities. You will lead cleaning operations, maintain floors, restrooms, and common areas, and support snow removal and room setups.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or an approved equivalent.
• Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position.
• Willingness to be trained in any custodial category as needed.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Police public areas inside and out as required.
• Dust mop, sweep, wet mop, strip, refinish, and spray buff floors with proper equipment.
• Vacuum rugs and carpet, including carpet shampooing.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, stock towels, soap, toilet paper, and feminine products.
• Dust/clean walls, doors, windows, woodwork, vents and above-floor surfaces.
• Vacuum furniture and drapes as needed.
• Dust, clean, and polish furniture.
• Wash windows.
• Clean desks and chalkboards.
• Notify Facilities Director of equipment or facilities needing repair or replacement.
• Replace accessible lights and wash light fixtures as needed.
• Remove trash and clean receptacles.
• Provide snow removal and report unsafe conditions.
• Grounds care includes trash removal and light maintenance.
• Set-ups and moving furniture as required.
• Regulate heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Check building security—lock/unlock doors, close windows, turn lights off.
• Raise/lower U.S. flags as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; report major repairs.
• Remain on site during school and authorized non-school hours as required.
• Requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Assist in determining need for special projects.
• Document on-the-job training for custodians.
• Daily checks of custodian areas for policy compliance.
• Be cooperative with supervisor and co-workers; maintain professional conduct.
• Adhere to Board policy and complete required paperwork on time.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
