Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Utility Worker to support kitchen and facility operations on the University of Alabama Birmingham campus. The role focuses on cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout food production and service areas, with various setup and break-down tasks as needed.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, no related experience, and knowledge of sanitation procedures. Pay ranges from $11.00 to $14.73 per hour and is full-time, on-site with student and staff access to

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No related work experience.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, to include basic concepts of food safety.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes by hand or uses a dishwashing machine.
• Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
• Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors.
• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
• Restocks supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
