Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated janitor to maintain clean, safe, and organized facilities at the Spartanburg, SC plant. The role requires high standards of performance, reliability, and the ability to work independently or with a team on the 1st shift (5:30 AM – 1:30 PM, M-F).

Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning, sanitizing restrooms, maintaining floors and fixtures, and supporting plant operations by keeping work areas presentable and hazard-free.

• Minimum 2 years of professional janitorial experience.

Who We Want:

Performs janitorial duties necessary to maintain and protect the assigned areas of responsibility. Ensures that external and internal appearance of a building is clean, organized and meets Company standards.

What You’ll Do:

• Follows standard work and daily checklists to ensure that all assigned tasks are performed to standard and meet expectations.
• Clean and make minor repair to building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
• Clean, sanitize, and stock restrooms/locker rooms using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
• Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Use ladders when required in work assignments.
• Remove outside debris and maintain grounds as assigned.
• Maintain the landscape around the buildings and fence lines.
• Clean all windows indoors.
• Clean and sanitize lunchrooms floors, furniture, and counters.
• Other duties assigned by the Management.

When and Where:

This will be a 1st Shift / 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM M-F position located at our Plant in Spartanburg, SC.

What You Need to Have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associates Degree
• Minimum 2 years of professional janitorial experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
• Has high standards of performance for self.

• Proven experience as janitor or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Familiarity with handyman and basic landscaping practices.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Respectful and able to take direction.
