Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a dependable janitor to maintain clean, organized facilities across our plant in Holland, MI. You will follow standard work and daily checklists to ensure tasks meet our high quality standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning and minor repairs to fixtures, restroom sanitation, floor care, landscape upkeep, and supporting general site operations. The role requires ability to lift 50+ pounds, work up to 12 hours/day including weekends, and basic handyman skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and maintenance of industrial fixtures.
• Ability to operate ladders and lift 50+ pounds.
• Knowledge of basic landscaping practices.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard work and daily checklists to perform tasks.
• Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, doors, windows.
• Clean restrooms/locker rooms and sanitize surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum floors.
• Maintain grounds and landscape around buildings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

POSITION PURPOSE

Performs janitorial duties necessary to maintain and protect the assigned areas of responsibility. Ensures that external and internal appearance of a building is clean, organized and meets Company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

• Follows standard work and daily checklists to ensure that all assigned tasks are performed to standard and meet expectations.
• Clean and make minor repair to building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters and drains.
• Clean, sanitize, and stock restrooms/locker rooms using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
• Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Use ladders when required in work assignments.
• Remove outside debris and maintain grounds as assigned.
• Maintain the landscape around the buildings and fence lines.
• Clean all windows indoors.
• Clean and sanitize lunchrooms floors, furniture and counters.
• Other duties assigned by the Management.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Proven experience as janitor or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Familiarity with handyman and basic landscaping practices.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Respectful and able to take direction.
• Able to work with little supervision
