Job summary

Canlan Sports is seeking a proactive janitor to perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, and supporting ice operations during peak periods.

The role requires a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, call-outs) and a reliable, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license an asset.
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC).
• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred).
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs).
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including property & grounds cleanup.
• Grass cutting and edging.
• Seasonal snow and debris removal.
• Maintain checklists, records and reports (window cleanliness, parking lot and property cleaning).
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing per floor care procedures.
• Assist with minor maintenance as required.
• Assist in Ice Maintenance during peak periods, short staffing or as required.
