Job summary

Canlan Sports in Libertyville, IL is seeking a pro-active janitor who will perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to keep the sports complex and surrounding grounds in top condition. The role focuses on cleaning and small repairs to support a safe, welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a Building Service Worker certificate, and a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• BC Building Service Worker Certificate is preferred
• Experience as a commercial buildings janitor is preferred
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Strong communication skills and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
• Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including: Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports with respect to: Window cleanliness, Parking lot & property cleaning checklist
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures
• Assist with minor maintenance as required
• Assist in Ice Maintenance during peak periods, short staffing or as required

• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written)
