Job summary

Micron's Boise facility is seeking a Facilities Instrumentation & Controls Technician to operate and maintain complex control systems, calibrate equipment, and ensure safety compliance. You will document activities and troubleshoot alarms, contributing to reliable plant operations.

This role emphasizes strong teamwork, adherence to LOTO and NFPA 70E standards, and continuous improvement within a high-tech semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and controls.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (3 days on/4 days off, then 4 days on/3 days off) with day/night rotation every 4 months.
  • Preferred: Valid Electrical Journeyman License and 3+ years in industrial instrumentation and controls, preferably in semiconductor/high-tech manufacturing.
  • Experience developing Agentic AI workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain instrumentation and control systems for facilities performance monitoring.
  • Perform calibration and maintenance of instrumentation, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Interpret P&ID drawings and one-line diagrams to troubleshoot system faults and alarms.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on complex facility equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and respond to system alarms and abnormal conditions, addressing failures to restore functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve equipment issues and improve system reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, testing, and calibrations.

Micron's Facilities Team is seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support operations at our state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication facility in Boise, Idaho. Preferred Requirements
  • Valid Electrical Journeyman License.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial instrumentation and controls, preferably in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
