Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho is seeking a qualified Facilities Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support our state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor fabrication operations. You will monitor and maintain instrumentation and control systems, ensuring reliable performance and safety in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes hands‑on calibration, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation, with 12‑hour rotating shifts (days/nights) and a strong commitment to safety

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and controls.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (3 days on/4 days off, then 4 days on/3 days off).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain instrumentation and control systems for facilities performance monitoring.
  • Perform calibration and maintenance of instrumentation, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Interpret P&ID drawings and one-line diagrams to troubleshoot system faults and alarms.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on complex facility equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and respond to system alarms and abnormal conditions, promptly addressing system failures to efficiently restore equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve equipment issues and improve system reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, testing, and calibrations.

Micron’s Facilities Team is seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support operations at our state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor fabrication facility in Boise, Idaho. Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and controls.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts (3 days on/4 days off, then 4 days on/3 days off), alternating between day and night shifts every 4 months.
Preferred Requirements
  • Valid Electrical Journeyman License.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial instrumentation and controls, preferably in a semiconductor or high‑tech manufacturing environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
