Job summary

The University of Chicago’s Animal Resources Center (ARC) seeks a seasoned professional to supervise the capital projects delivery process, from design through commissioning and close-out. You will manage renovations and new asset delivery, coordinating schedules and reporting to the Associate Director.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in a related field with 5–7 years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills, and a proven ability to lead teams and work with administrative and academic

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an academic environment, preferably within an animal research setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery process of ARC/OSRF renovation/construction projects from the design phase through close out/completion.
  • Coordinate schedules and provide status updates/reports to the Associate Director.
  • Supervise maintenance & infrastructure team’s assignments, performance and time approval.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and verify proper operation of building systems; coordinate with veterinary faculty to resolve issues.
  • Manage relationships with University facilities, supervise outside contractors, and coordinate quotes and procurement.
