Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Denver, CO seeks a Department Manager to lead the infrastructure design and support systems engineering organization, delivering complex facility systems for advanced laser, pulsed-power, and industrial operations advancing fusion energy to the grid.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, translate system requirements into designs, set standards, and ensure safety, manufacturability, reliability, and long-term operation across mechanical, electrical, structural, utilities,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil / Structural, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in facility engineering, infrastructure systems, or complex technical environments.
• Experience managing engineering teams for multi-disciplinary technical execution.
• Strong understanding of facility mechanical, electrical, structural, and control systems.
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, building codes, industrial facility best practices.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. (citizenship/visa status as stated).

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team delivering safety-driven, complex facility projects on schedule and budget.
• Define department roles, workflows, standards, processes and design best practices.
• Translate requirements into technical designs, specifications, and milestones for assigned scopes.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering to map system requirements to detailed plans and milestones.
• Mentor engineers, perform reviews, and promote continuous improvement in execution.
