Job summary

University of Chicago ITS seeks an engineer to design campus and Medical Center cabling systems. You will assist in enforcing infrastructure policies, prepare bids, review blueprints, and coordinate construction with project managers to meet install dates.

This role involves liaising with clients and vendors on complex voice, data, and video cabling projects. Applicants should have 2–5 years in telecommunications/data cabling, strong project management skills, and familiarity with BISCI

Qualifications

• Requires college or university degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of work experience in a related discipline.
• Experience with telecommunications and data cabling systems design and engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop bid specifications for contractor bids and conduct bid conferences.
• Evaluate bids, write scopes of work, and manage budgeting and invoicing.
• Coordinate installation from contract award to customer acceptance and punch list.
