Job summary

Workstream seeks a Housekeeping Manager to lead custodial staff responsible for cleaning and maintaining clinical and academic buildings. You will schedule personnel, assign duties, inspect work, and address complaints to ensure top quality service.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience, strong English communication, and proficiency with MS Office. Familiarity with healthcare facility standards and environmental services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent required; combinations considered.
• At least 5 years in facilities, janitorial, or custodial roles in healthcare or public facilities.
• At least 5 years of supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Strong reading, comprehension, and follow-through of written instructions in English.
• Specialty training in Carpet Care, Customer Service, Floor Care or Supervisor training.
• Knowledge of environmental service equipment, supplies, policies and procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with internet-based programs and MS Office applications.
• Ability to prepare daily and monthly reports as directed by the Director.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a client-service focus.
• Age-specific competency when interacting with patients, visitors, and families.
• Commitment to self-development activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and supervise custodial workers delivering care and cleaning services.
• Schedule employees, assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints.
• Recommend corrective actions and monitor outcomes.
• May purchase supplies/equipment, conduct inventories, screen applicants, and train new hires.
• Ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
