Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a General Laborer to perform grounds maintenance and custodial tasks at our facility. You will operate hand tools, assist with waste cart organization, and help on route as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable, proactive work habits. Candidates should be able to read and speak English, work in varying outdoor conditions, and maintain facilities with basic repairs and cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to read and speak English well.
• Experience with hand tools and equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds including mowing, trimming, and trash pickup.
• Operate hand-held tools and equipment; ensure safe operating condition per policy and OSHA.
• Assist with organization of waste carts and bins; load/unload containers.
• Provide safe driving practices when transporting waste and containers.
• Perform minor repairs and general upkeep of facilities and maintenance shops.
• Interact professionally with customers and colleagues; assist on route as needed.
