Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is hiring General Laborers to maintain facility grounds and assist across lines of business. You will operate hand tools, ensure equipment safety, and support with waste carts and on-route duties.

Strong work ethic, ability to work with minimal supervision, and clear English communication are required. The role involves outdoor work in varying temperatures and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate and follow safety training

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds-keeping including mowing, trimming, and trash pickup.
• Operate various hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools and equipment.
• Ensure safe operating condition of equipment per policy and OSHA.
• Assist with waste carts and bins organization and distribution.
• Perform safe driving practices when transporting containers and bins.
• Assist on route as needed and support maintenance shops and offices.
