Job summary

Opportunities with Wheaton Park District seeks a facilities maintenance worker to perform routine and preventative maintenance of district lands, facilities, and equipment. Basic plumbing and carpentry skills are required, with duties including custodial support and setup for programs and rentals.

The role requires at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; experience in maintenance or construction is preferred.

Qualifications

Experience in maintenance repairs and construction field required.
Must be able to multi task and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Must have good verbal communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

Attend work site as scheduled; available for other shifts and overtime.
May be reassigned to another division; work locations vary based on district needs.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repairs to district lands, facilities, and equipment.
Assist with custodian tasks at all district facilities and grounds.
Assist with cleaning interior, exterior and immediate grounds while performing light maintenance.
Assist with coordinating and setting up buildings for programs and rentals.
Assist with receiving, storing and distributing custodial and recreation supplies to various locations.
Assist with performing minor building repairs and report repairs as needed.
Shovel snow and de-ice walkways.
Wear PPE as needed and maintain safety awareness.
