Qualifications

• General knowledge of materials, equipment and tools used for grounds repair and maintenance.
• Ability to learn standard trades methods in a reasonable time.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Operate motorized equipment, brushes and sprayers safely.
• Must be in good physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Performs a broad range of skilled and non-skilled trades including carpentry and painting, custodial and grounds maintenance.
• Identifies problems and performs needed repairs.
• Replaces belts, motors, switches and other components.
• Assists with cost estimates for repairs and maintenance.
• Completes office moves and transports furniture as needed.
• Maintains grounds around county buildings.
• Operates vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Orders and transports materials and supplies.
• Installs and repairs street signs and gutters.
• Removes trash and moves furniture and equipment.
