Job summary

Goodwill Legacy Group in Indianapolis is seeking a Facilities & Grounds Technician to maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and physical grounds across all Goodwill locations. The Technician performs general repairs, preventive maintenance, relocations, and installations while focusing on safety, quality, customer relations, and CMMS data entry.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, carpentry, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, and furniture relocation; travel to off-site

Qualifications

• No degree required; demonstrates capability and willingness to learn.
• Proficient carpentry: measuring, wall anchoring, drywall finishing, hardware installation.
• Excellent communication: oral, written, and visual communication; listens to understand needs.
• Teamwork: collaborates and contributes to team outputs.
• Customer-focused: maintains professional attitude and satisfaction.
• Able to read technical docs and follow safety procedures.
• Familiar with computers/CMMS for work orders and PM checklists.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and completes routine facility and grounds maintenance across all locations.
• Travels to off-site locations for grounds services, painting, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and furniture relocation.
• Disassembles and repairs mechanical equipment; replaces parts and reassembles; inspects repairs.
• Operates basic hand and power tools following safety procedures.
• Updates and completes work orders in CMMS; inputs data accurately.
