Job summary

Kendallville Plant is seeking a Buildings & Grounds Tech to maintain facility infrastructure, buildings, and grounds. You will ensure safety, GMP compliance, and food safety alignment while performing preventive and corrective maintenance and documenting in SAP.

Typical shift is 1st shift 6:30am-2:30pm Mon-Fri with overtime as needed; candidate should have strong maintenance experience and ability to operate in a food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial or facilities maintenance.
• Willingness to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Plumbing, Painting, flooring repair, general construction.
• Basic knowledge of electricity 110V, 240V and 3 phase.
• Basic Math Skills.
• Ability to obtain PIV licenses – Forklift, Scissor Lift, etc.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of buildings (roofs, walls, floors, doors, lighting, drainage).
• Painting throughout plant
• Repair and replacement of lighting and light fixtures
• Basic plumbing (sinks, eye-wash stations, toilets, etc.)
• Installation/maintenance of office areas (furniture, TVs)
• Upkeep of signage interior/exterior of plant
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs
• Ensure structural integrity and quick response to facility issues
• Maintain site appearance aligned with standards
• Follow safety, food safety, and permit-to-work systems
• Maintain GMP compliance and audits
• Ensure hygiene zoning standards
• Perform PMs and document in SAP
• Follow LOTO, food safety, and EHS requirements
• Identify recurring issues and support root cause analysis
• Communicate with Production/Quality/Maintenance leadership
• Assist driving OEE improvements
• Read daily production schedule
• Work across shifts with Team Leads
• Handle projects as directed by supervisor
• Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance Leads on maintenance
