Job summary

The Township of Van Buren Public Services seeks a capable Maintenance Worker to perform custodial, maintenance and improvement activities for township facilities and grounds. You will join a team handling mowing, snow plowing, cemetery grounds, and minor construction, reporting to management with minimal supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years in maintenance, and a valid CDL Class A plus Michigan driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training preferred.
• Two+ years in building and grounds maintenance preferred.
• CDL Class A license and Michigan driver’s license required.
• Must perform duties with minimal supervision and be willing to work overtime, evenings, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Mow township facilities and parks properties.
• Maintain greenways, snow plowing, and bed maintenance.
• Assist in burial site preparation and cemetery grounds maintenance.
• Operate plow equipment, tractors, hi-lo, and dump trucks as needed.
• Perform facilities and grounds maintenance, repairs and improvement projects.
• Maintain records and respond to customer maintenance complaints.
