Job summary

New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs (DMNA) seeks Facilities Operations Assistant 1 to perform custodial and maintenance duties across armories, bases, and training sites in New York. The role emphasizes painting, surface prep, and decorating interior/exterior fixtures.

You may assist with carpentry, electrical, and other trades under guidance. Under supervision, you will complete timesheets, work orders, and other records, with periodic overtime and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, grounds work, or labor-intensive environments.
• Ability to read and write in English and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn systems such as SFS.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance, painting, and general facilities tasks.
• Maintain automotive equipment and machinery as needed.
• Assist with Nonmilitary Use Program maintenance requirements.
