Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities. You will handle repairs, lawn care, snow removal, and groundskeeping to keep properties welcoming and safe.

The role requires independence, teamwork, and the ability to operate basic tools and equipment while following safety procedures. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 6 months in maintenance and snow removal experience, and a valid driver’s

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months in previous maintenance experience preferred.
• 6 months snow removal experience preferred (if applicable).
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge and repair experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Able to work on-call and independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and preventative maintenance to maintain property integrity.
• Complete repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed.
• Inspect irrigation systems and repair as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites and remove trash and debris.
• Remove snow from community streets and parking areas when applicable.
• Maintain lawns, plantings, and general landscaping tasks.
• Ensure streets and access routes are hazard-free.
• Operate water meters, wells, and related systems where applicable.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Assist supervising contractors and inspect playgrounds, pools, and amenities.
• Assist with move-in/move-out spotting and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain community vehicles and equipment and follow safety procedures.
