Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute is seeking a diligent maintenance technician to keep our grounds, facility, and equipment safe and reliable. You will follow maintenance schedules, report incidents, and coordinate with nursing staff to support resident living areas.

The role requires basic technical skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC, plus the ability to follow safety procedures and protect resident information.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
• Ability to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them into maintenance practices.
• Mathematical skills: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance schedules for respective shift or area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine tasks in resident areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, facility and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and mechanical tasks.
• Ensure maintenance supplies are replenished in work areas as necessary.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information, including protected health information.
• Inform residents when it is necessary to move their personal possessions.
