Job summary

Artesia Palms Care Center is seeking a maintenance worker to uphold grounds, facility, and equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and the center's policies. You will follow maintenance schedules, report incidents, and assist with routine upkeep to ensure resident comfort and safety.

The role requires a minimum 10th grade education, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and a willingness to collaborate with nursing staff while maintaining confidentiality of resident

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance schedules for respective shift or area.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, facilities, and equipment (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical) as directed.
• Report accidents/incidents to supervision.
• Ensure facility and equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and safety.
• Follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
