Job summary

Allendale Charter Township is seeking a Maintenance Operator to perform general building and grounds maintenance for township facilities, parks, cemetery, and library buildings under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor. Responsibilities include custodial duties, routine repairs, grounds care, equipment maintenance, budgeting support, and supervision of part-time staff when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired, or working toward completion.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain Township park buildings, including restrooms and common areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs for Township facilities, including painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Maintain grounds at township facilities, parks, cemeteries, boulevards, and the Library, including mowing and irrigation.
• Maintain and repair equipment, including lawn care equipment and preventive maintenance.
• Open/close graves at the cemetery and snowplow parking areas as needed.
