Job summary

Texas State University in San Marcos seeks an Assistant Director of Facilities and Grounds to lead Campus Recreation operations, oversee grounds, custodial, and building maintenance, and manage a team of eight custodians, two maintenance workers, and a five-person grounds crew.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of professional work experience within facility operations (e.g. Campus Recreation, Fitness, Aquatics, Outdoors, etc.) or related field.
• Progressively responsible experience within campus recreation or related field.
• Current CPR , AED , First Aid and or ability to obtain within 45 days.

Responsibilities

• Facility Management/Maintenance, Turf Maintenance: oversee campus recreation grounds operations, custodial operations and building maintenance operations.
• Staff Development and Oversight: manage 8-person Custodial team, 2 Maintenance Worker II, 5-person Grounds crew; supervise student staff.
• Administration and Budget Development: lead annual budget development; manage program budgets and purchasing.
• Risk Management and Safety: ensure safety inspections and compliance with policies; knowledge of turf management and pesticide regulations.
• Other Duties: participate in department programs; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
