Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford in Colebrook, CT is seeking an Associate Property Manager to oversee facility cleanliness, grounds, and maintenance operations. You will supervise staff, coordinate repairs, ensure safety, and maintain logs; reports to Building & Property Manager.

The role requires prior maintenance experience, ability to work a flexible schedule, and a valid driver’s license. It is a full-time exempt position with duties across buildings and grounds including emergency spill response.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience in building and grounds.
• Willingness to learn equipment operation.
• Ability to work unsupervised and handle fluctuating schedules.
• Comfort with chemicals and solvents used in cleaning and maintenance.
• Able to bend, lift, and stand for long periods; capable of handling up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure superior cleanliness and grounds upkeep per standards.
• Complete maintenance work orders promptly.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues or coordinate with vendors.
• Set up and breakdown program areas for events.
• Manage inventory of materials and supplies.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and address safety issues.
• Supervise and work with staff, volunteers, and community workers.
• Maintain safe, clean environment; monitor safety in program areas.
• Provide friendly, courteous service and build relationships.
• Emergency spill and Bloodborne Pathogen cleanup (training provided).
• Serve as primary backup in absence of Building & Property Manager.
• Maintain logs and records.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and records kept.
• Coordinate part-time/seasonal staff daily tasks.
