Job summary

Boise State University is seeking a facility services worker to coordinate equipment and space setup for meetings and events. You will support customers, monitor room usage, and perform light maintenance while following safety and ADA guidelines.

The role requires handling heavy items (up to 60 lbs), operating forklifts/AV equipment, and ensuring secure, compliant environments during events and shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience providing customer service and applying policies.
• Ability to interpret written and oral instructions.
• Experience using tools and equipment for facility preparation.
• Commitment to safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Secure assigned areas on a schedule; turn lights out and lock doors.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and hand tools.
• Handle chemicals and supplies using proper methods.
• Provide backup services for other vacant positions.
• Move office furniture and perform light maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with policies and work availability.
• Interpret event documents to determine needs and prioritize tasks; select equipment; anticipate problems.
• Apply fire safety and ADA guidelines; set up seating, staging, AV equipment; monitor HVAC and lighting; report safety issues.
• Provide customer service to facility users and resolve complaints; assist directions; evacuate in emergencies.
• May perform other duties as needed.
