Job summary

Newberg Friends Church is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support the Building Manager in caring for church buildings and grounds. This 15-hour-per-week, part-time position involves indoor/outdoor work, routine maintenance, event setup, and on-call emergency support as needed.

The role requires adherence to safety and spiritual guidelines, with duties including preventative maintenance, ground upkeep, and collaboration with custodial and security teams.

Qualifications

• Work Environment indoors and outdoors.
• Physical Demands include sitting, standing, walking, driving; lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Hours: 15 hours per week.
• Background check required to meet church and denominational safety standards.
• Spiritual Alignment with Newberg Friends Church and Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ongoing and preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Assist with contracted plant maintenance and ground upkeep.
• Assist with ongoing contract commitments.
• Help with event set-up and tear-down.
• Help with vehicle operations and upkeep.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining the parking lots.
• Provide emergency on-call services when requested by Building Manager.
• Perform other requests as needed through Building Manager.
• Work with custodial staff when asked.
• Work with security staff when asked.
