The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance & Set-Up Worker to support preventive maintenance and event setup in the A. Ray Olpin University Union. The role also includes taking down setups after events and assisting with work orders.

This entry-level position offers on-the-job training, with a daytime schedule and full-time employment, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training; six months of experience or education substituted.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and stooping, and to use a variety of equipment.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep facilities, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Complete facility work orders, including basic repairs, cleaning, and maintenance tasks.
• Prepare meeting spaces for daily events, including planning, setup, and takedown.
• Set up chairs, tables, and equipment as needed for events.
• Provide incidental services related to events, such as garbage removal or cleaning.
• May unload equipment or supplies; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The A. Ray Olpin University Union provides a multitude of programsand services for the campus and surrounding community. The Union islooking for candidates to support that mission by assisting withpreventative maintenance and work orders in the Union building.This role will also be responsible for setting up and taking downevents as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry-level position, will receive training on the job. Six monthsexperience equivalency (6 months year of education can besubstituted for one year of related work experience) preferred. Theability to perform heavy lifting and stooping; the ability to use avariety of equipment; a commitment to providing excellent customerservice; and a valid driver's license also required.
