Job summary

Skyworks offers a Facilities Mechanical Engineering Intern position designed for students pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering. The internship provides real work experience, exposure to upper management, and potential path to full-time opportunities within Skyworks’ Technology & Manufacturing group.

Responsibilities include improving facilities systems for safety, reliability, and energy efficiency, and collaborating with fab engineering, EHS, and energy teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must have completed at least one course in thermodynamics or fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Identify/Execute projects to enhance facilities system safety, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Perform deep dives of critical facilities systems to identify optimization.
• Troubleshoot system faults and resolve interruptions.
• Update/optimize the Facilities Tool Utility Matrix.
• Update building and facilities equipment documentation, including as-built drawings and SOPs/SOOs/P&IDs.
• Support process equipment installation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including fab engineering, EHS, and energy.
