Chicago Cubs is hiring an Operating Engineer Trainee in Chicago, IL. This full-time role supports the facilities team with plant operations, preventive maintenance, and system rounds.

Trainees gain hands-on exposure to BAS, CMMS, and campus controls while working closely with the Chief Engineer and building engineers. The position emphasizes independent work and teamwork in a dynamic sports venue environment, with the potential for growth as you complete required Local399 classwork and

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and taking classes approved by Local399.
• Proficient with Microsoft operating systems and technology.
• Strong social skills and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation and maintenance of building mechanical equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and life-safety systems.
• Receive training and conduct daily mechanical rounds, chemical testing, preventative maintenance, equipment repair and inspections.
• Trainee will actively manage building systems on-shift, including BAS, CMMS work requests and campus controls.
