Job summary

Palms Casino Resort is seeking a General Engineer to work closely with the Assistant Chief Engineer and gain thorough familiarity with operation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers/freezers, boilers, water heaters, pumps, and plumbing.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
Must be able to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Trade school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.
Three (3) years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in refrigeration required.
Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material, schematics, and blueprints.
Basic knowledge of Health Department, ADA, and OSHA codes and regulations.
Must be EPA certified.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other related systems.
Troubleshoot problems with systems and take appropriate corrective action.
Respond to emergency situations such as fire, power outage, gas, or water leaks.
Maintain equipment with standard preventative maintenance procedures.
Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilation equipment.
Maintain records on all equipment maintenance and repair.
Complete other duties as assigned by management.
